Financial market: Monthly authorised deposit-taking institution statistics
Household finance provided by authorised deposit‑taking institutions (ADIs) indicates borrowing across housing and consumer credit and how these are changing over time.
Data are sourced from the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) publication Monthly Authorised Deposit‑taking Institution Statistics.
APRA is the national prudential regulator, supervising institutions across the banking, insurance and superannuation sectors to promote financial stability in Australia.
Data relate to lending recorded on the domestic books of licensed ADIs and include transactions with both residents and non‑residents. Operations of overseas‑based entities, including foreign branches and subsidiaries, are excluded.
Data are reported for selected institutions above specified thresholds, with full institution coverage available in the source data.
See the APRA publication for more information, including data quality notes. Data for this visualisation are drawn from the Monthly ADI Statistics back series.
