Household finances: National accounts - household balance sheet
Household balance sheets indicate the value of household assets and liabilities across all households in Australia and how these are changing over time.
Data are sourced from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) publication Australian National Accounts: Finance and Wealth.
These data provide aggregate measures of household wealth based on assets and liabilities, and can be used to analyse consumer spending, household debt and financial stress.
Australian National Accounts statistics are compiled using a range of data sources and are produced in accordance with international standards in the System of National Accounts.
See the ABS publication for more information, including data quality notes. Data for this visualisation are drawn from the Australian National Accounts: Finance and Wealth data downloads (table 35).
