Household balance sheets demonstrates aggregate household wealth through the value of household assets and liabilities, providing important information on consumer spending, household debt accumulation and household financial stress.

Household balance sheets since September 1988 are published in the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ (ABS) Australian National Accounts: Finance and Wealth. Australian National Accounts statistics are produced using information from a wide range of data sources and are compiled in accordance with international standards contained in the System of National Accounts.
